Monday, June 6th I took a day trip with an avid gardener to The Flower Garden Center(https://flowerhousemohall.com/) near Mohall in search of purple poppies for her garden. Getting there was an adventure! I thought we were in Canada! Hoho-Haha! The drive was so worth it. We had lunch at the Prairie Bistro on site and then just took in all there is to see, and there is plenty!
The Gardener found what she was looking for and it was time for desert! Cheesecake and brownies all from Sonja’s Old Fashioned Delicacies and very tasty!
As we were talking to the owner/operator of the garden center, Sonja Stromswold, we found out that she wears many hats, operating the garden center, the bistro and the bakery are just a few. They also board horses and have a pair of aussie herders that I would love to have. There are art, craft and cooking workshops throughout the year and special holiday events by appointment. Sonja has been featured in the Country Woman magazine and the North Dakota Living Magazine.
If you have not been there, do take a summer “day trip” with friends and enjoy all they have to offer at the Flower Garden Center of Mohall. It was a wonderful way to spend a day! Thank you, Bonnie!
