The Anamoose Area Community Foundation held their 5th annual Corn Feed today (Sunday, August 25th) at the Anamoose Senior Center. The committee talked afterwards how much easier it is to have it inside-supplies & cooking utensils handy & not have to worry about the weather, bugs, etc.
The crowd enjoy the corn, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, beans, cucumber salad, & fruit salad. For dessert Rose Weninger, chairman, made a decorated cake that was served with ice cream. The corn was again furnished by Farmer’s Union Oil Co-Anamoose branch; Tony Martin, Manager.
All 32 pies were sold. What a variety there was.
Frances Seefeld entertained us with his accordion.
At noon the 2013 grants were given out to 3 non-profit organizations.
$1600-Anamoose Fire Dept.-water tanker. Brent Weninger, president, accepted the grant from Alyce Heer, president AACF
Another fund raiser for the AACF is a cash raffle with $2500 in cash prizes. 500 tickets are being sold at $10 each.
